Your mother’s face can tell how you’ll age
October 25th, 2009 - 2:08 pm ICT by ANI ( 2 comments )Washington, Oct 25 (ANI): A lot can be revealed about how a female will age by looking at her mother, according to a new study.
In the study, researchers examined 10 sets of similar looking mother-daughter pairs to measure changes in the aging female face.
The researchers used facial imaging and 3D computer modelling to measure the changes.
They observed a consistent pattern of sagging and volume loss specifically around the inner corners of the eye and lower eyelids in the mothers.
Interestingly, volume loss in the lower eyelid ranged from 0.3 to 1cc, beginning in the mid 30s and continuing to progress steadily through life.
The amount of volume loss was greater than previously estimated.
To measure the full spectrum of aging, ages of the mother-daughter pairs ranged from 15 to 90 years old.
These findings may act as a further guideline for cosmetic rejuvenation of the entire eye region.
The study was presented at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Plastic Surgery 2009 conference, in Seattle. (ANI)
