Woman finds porn in computer she bought for kids
November 13th, 2011 - 5:23 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Nov 13 (IANS) A British woman who bought two tablet-style computers as Christmas gifts for her children was shocked to find pornographic photos and erotic literature in one of them.
Sarah Cairns bought the computers from a store in Preston, Lancashire, for eight-year-old Maisey and seven-year-old Rio.
When the 30-year-old mother clicked into a programme on one of the computers, she found dozens of explicit images of women and erotic literature, the Daily Mail reported.
“I thought I would have a look to see what they were like. The first one wasn’t working, and the other one already had all these apps downloaded on it,” said Sarah.
“I clicked on the ‘e-books’ one and lots of porn came on the screen, with explicit images. I just couldn’t believe it,” she said.
Dave Stokes, general manager at the firm where she bought the gadgets, said he would investigate the matter as soon as Sarah brought the computers back.
“What we have said to Mrs. Cairns was if she can bring them back to us, we will have to send it back to the manufacturer to fully investigate. They are all brand new, unopened products - it has not been out of the box in our possession, so we need to investigate,” he said.
“We have apologised to the lady and offered her a full refund or exchange,” he said.
