Kolkata, July 13 (IANS) Two policemen were injured in a clash with relatives of a woman who died due to alleged neglect in a state-run medical college here, the police said. Poonam Mehta, a resident of Kadapara on the eastern fringes of the city, was taken to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital with high fever, a police official said.
Her relatives alleged that the doctors sent her home after administering an injection and giving saline.
After the woman died on the way, her enraged relatives Saturday beat up some junior doctors and damaged the hospital property, the police said.
When the police arrived, the mob attacked them, injuring two constables.
The police, however, brought the situation under control. Four people have been arrested in connection with the attack on the doctors and the police.
