Woman denied entry into hospital, gives birth outside

Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh), May 17 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government ordered a probe Saturday after a woman in the final stages of labour was denied entry into a hospital here and gave birth outside. Kiran gave birth to a baby boy at the gate of the Hardoi district hospital Friday. After the delivery, Kiran’s family members took her and the baby to a private nursing home for treatment, said the police.
“A team of four doctors led by the chief medical officer is looking into the matter. A report naming several hospital officials has been registered,” Hardoi city magistrate R.S. Srivastava told IANS.
