Wellington, May 24 (ANI): British doctors have warned that there has been a drastic increase in sexually transmitted diseases (STD) among older men using Viagra, because it fuels extramarital affairs.

According to British health information, rates of sexual infections such as gonorrhea more than tripled in men between 45 to 64 years of age and for fold increase among teenagers.

The number of chlamydia cases has also experienced a significant increase of 315 per cent between 1997 and 2006.

Though the sex drug may boost mens performance but it is also putting them at an increased risk of contracting STDs.

John Dean, president, International Society for Sexual Medicine said that the drug was giving men greater freedom to engage in sexual activity with more partners.

MenzMedical Christchurch director Dr Rob Williams said older men using Viagra sometimes came to the clinic to get checked for sexual diseases after having extramarital affairs.

“It’s the guilt mostly that brings them in here,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Williams as saying.

He said that the older men particularly at risk were those frequently swapping sexual partners or using prostitutes. (ANI)
