September 29th, 2009 - 9:57 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Sep 29 (IANS) The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) will open here Wednesday, WAM news agency reported.
Various programmes including folklore dances, art, poetry, handicraft and coffee brewing competitions, among others, will be organised at the event from Sep 30 to Oct 3.
Among the participants, ‘The Musical Ride’ team of the British Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment with 28 horses will lead the line-up at the equestrian event in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The riding team will present a special five-minute musical feature dedicated to the people of the UAE. This will be performed daily throughout the exhibition.
“Over the years ADIHEX has become an important occasion to showcase the UAE’s cultural heritage. The performances by the oldest royal regiment in the British Army reflect the rapidly growing international appeal of this event,” said Simon Horgan, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.
The event was first organised in 2002.
