London, Sept 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new poll has identified that Britain has a high number of online spies. The researchers reported that 20 percent of female respondents in the country admitted that they have spied on their partners online before. The number is about half in men.

In the poll the respondents were asked if they have spied on their partners’ online private data without their knowledge. 1 in 5 of the women who were surveyed said they have done that before. Only 1 in 10 of the male respondents admitted doing it before. The researchers also found that more than half of the respondents who were under the age of 25 years shared their online login details with their partners.

The percentage in the respondents who gave their login credentials to their partners is much lower in people between the ages of 45 and 54. Only a third of the respondents said they share their login information with their partners.

The online poll was conducted by computer securities company Norton. More than a third – 34 percent – of the respondents admitted that they have created fake account on social networks before.

The pollsters labeled Britain the “nation of online snoops.”

Norton’s Simon Ellison said that, “Our research raises some serious questions around privacy and the boundaries people are willing to cross in their own online dealings.”
