Sachin Pilot to attend Gujjars’ funeral at Dausa
June 7th, 2008 - 12:42 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend: Jaipur, June 7 (ANI): Congress MP Sachin Pilot will be in Dausa today after Gujjars demanded his presence as a precondition for the cremation of 20 agitators killed in the May 24 violence.
The Dausa district Gujjar Samaj also wants the release of two rebel Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, Prahalad Gunjal and Attar Singh Bhadana, currently detained in Central Jail in Jaipur.
The Gujjars have been agitating in support of their demand for being granted Scheduled Tribe status.
Meanwhile, a meeting had also been called by Gujjar leader Colonel Bainsla in Bharatpur to discuss the government’s invitation for talks (ANI)
