Rural people in Britain more likely to cheat on partners
March 29th, 2011 - 11:05 am ICT by IANSLondon, March 29 (IANS) People who live in the countryside or rural areas have happier relationships than those who live in cities - but are more likely to cheat on their partners, according to a British study.
More than one in five - 21 percent - from the countryside said they might be unfaithful to their partners if they could get away with it.
Compared to that, just 16 percent of people in cities said they would do so, according to the Daily Express.
Among rural men, one in five confessing to cheating, while one in eight rural women admitted to being unfaithful.
However, only eight percent from the countryside said they were unhappy in their relationships. In the city this was 21 percent.
Momentum Pictures, which carried out the poll, said: “It’s a surprise country residents are more likely to cheat on their partners as you would expect the chattering nature of rural areas to deter people.”
