New York, Jan 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a surprisingly study it has been revealed that the running shoes are as bad as high heels. This study was revealed in a journal of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The survey was conducted over a number of young runners, adult, about 68 of them, where 37 of them women. All of them were given running shoes, and then asked to run for about 15 miles per day. After that, their jogging was observed. None of them had ever suffered from any kind of musculosketal injury.
A new study finds that running shoes, may ironically put more strain on your joints than if you were to run barefoot or even to walk in high-heeled shoes. This increased pressure could eventually aggravate in to knee, hip and ankle damage. “While exercise is no doubt beneficial for overall health, running and walking put stresses on your joints that may predispose you to getting osteoarthritis in those areas”, said Dr. D. Casey Kerrigan, who led the study at the University of Virginia, where she was a professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
