April 18th, 2011 - 11:46 am ICT by IANSBeijing, April 18 (IANS) A 29-year-old Chinese woman, trafficked thrice since she was seven years old, has finally been reunited with her family following a message on the radio heard by her long-lost uncle.
Pati Guli, born to a family in Kuqa county in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, was a victim of human trafficking three times in the past 22 years, China Daily reported.
The woman was trafficked for the first time when she was seven. Between 1991 and 2000, she was resold twice until she met her now husband in 2003.
When her husband came to know about the woman’s tragic tale, he decided to help her reunite with her family. They put out messages on radio and TV stations for her family members.
Finally, the woman’s uncle heard it while listening to the Aksu radio station.
Guli was reunited with her parents last month.
