London, November 16 (ANI): Prince Charles, who turned a senior citizen on November 14, celebrated his 60 th birthday in the company of family and friends at his Gloucestershire country home.
The occasion saw legendary musician Rod Stewart, who charges a million pound for a private performance, pay his personal tribute to the heir to the throne and his wife Camilla with songs such as You Wear It Well.
The champagne party on November 15 had been organised by the Duchess of Cornwall who, since her marriage with the royal three years ago, has been credited in bringing her husband the stability and joy that he had long craved for.
The Princes 900-acre-Highgrove house gleamed with the presence of more than 100 family and friends including his sons Princes William and Harry, and their long-term girlfriends, Kate Middleton and Chelsy Davy.
Other royal and high-profile guests such as the Duke of York, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Stephen Fry, Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar also graced the occasion.
It was intended as a jolly country knees-up simply to have a fun evening that everyone present enjoys and remembers, the Telegraph quoted a Princes aide as saying.
The eldest son of the Queen and Prince Philip, whose birthday celebrations was marked with a series of events, had insisted on catering as much of local produce as possible with Highgrove fruits and the houses own brand champagne making it to the royal table. (ANI)
