Mumbai, May 30 (IANS) On the eve of World No Tobacco Day, Pfizer India Ltd Friday launched a website and a toll-free helpline to help smokers strongly motivated to kick the habit. The website and toll-free helpline aim to educate motivated quitters about nicotine addiction and provide guidance that will help them embark on the de-addiction process.

Pfizer India director for medical and regulatory affairs Chandrashekhar Potkar said: “One of the many reasons that smokers find it difficult to quit is because of a lack of a constant support system. The Champs Club will help the smoker understand the seriousness of nicotine addiction and hand-hold them through the quitting process.”

Pfizer India has a turnover of $162 million and globally it is one of the highest spenders on pharmaceutical research and development. Pfizer has made clinical research investments of $15.75 million in India.
