Now Jedi master Yoda is set to guide you on ‘Star Wars’ Sat-nav
July 9th, 2010 - 5:43 pm ICT by ANISydney, July 9 (ANI): A portable sat-nav specialist firm has introduced a new range of official ‘Star Wars’ voices on their satellite navigation systems and Jedi master Yoda is the latest addition.
TomTom added Yoda to the Darth Vader and C-3PO voice command downloads that were released recently for Australian drivers, and Han Solo, played in the movies by Harrison Ford, will join them next month.
The firm said the voice commands, which cost 17.50 dollars each, incorporate dialogue inspired by the first three films- ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’.
Yoda instructions include phrases such as: “After 700 metres, hmmm, keep to the right then take a sharp left. Control, control, if a Jedi you wish to be.”
Some commands are accompanied by the theme music and dialogue played out on Yoda’s home planet of Dagobah with ghostly Jedi Knight Ben ‘Obi-Wan’ Kenobi - in the ‘Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’.
The company behind the two Star Wars trilogies, LucasFilms, expects the voice commands to be a hit with fans.
“Star Wars fans are sure to be delighted when they hear just how great these voices sound on their TomTom navigation devices,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted the director of international licensing and marketing for Lucas Licensing, Casey Collins, as saying. (ANI)
