Now, dating site for people who love Apple products
June 11th, 2010 - 5:20 pm ICT by ANIWellington, June 11 (ANI): Boys and girls, who love Apple products, can strike new romances based on their favourite gadgets on a new website, called Cupidtino.
Cupidtino opened in beta this week alongside the launch of the iPhone. The Cupidtino site has not been officially endorsed by Apple but has cashed in on its familiar web format.
“The design feels like it is made by Apple,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Anthony Klyza, 19, an Apple enthusiast and user of the site as saying.
Unashamedly fanatical about Apple products, Cupidtino asks members to answer questions such as “What’s your ideal iTunes playlist,” and avoids traditional dating site themes.
Members are also encouraged to send in pictures of their favourite Apple gadgets.
The site only works on an iPhone or iPad or on a Safari operating system.
And thus, Mel Sampat, the site’s co-founder has said that PC’s need not apply.
Overall demand for the site had exceeded expectations since its announcement, said Sampat.
“We’ve seen relatively high demand for this site. We expected a few hundred people to sign up, but instead 22,000 people registered for our beta in the first week [prior to launch],” he said.
“It was very surprising to us, and almost seems like people are really seeking a fun/casual alternative to traditional sites like Match.com. We’ve heard from people all over the world (including Australia) saying things like ‘If I was single I’d totally be on your site’ or ‘I wish this existed when I met my husband or wife’,” he added.
Many proud new Cupidtino members are turning to Twitter to publicise their profiles. (ANI)
