New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) Those seeking a cure for modern-day lifestyle diseases have an answer. Yoga Acharya Anoop, who specialises in music meditation, kicked off his healthy lifestyle campaign with the release of his book on spine and mind management here Sunday. The book, “Yoga: Spine & Mind Management”, was released by Congress party general secretary B.K. Hariprasad at the Siri Fort auditorium. The essence of the book, according to Guru Anoop, is: “You are as young as your spine is flexible.”
Priced at Rs.189, the 50-page volume has been published by Chaitanya Foundation, an organisation dedicated to yoga and holistic lifestyle practices.
The book is divided into four sections and deals with the nature of modern-day lifestyle diseases in its detailed introduction and offers yogic solutions. It also explores the causes of imbalanced minds and suggests measures to attain a healthy mind.
It lays down meditative solutions and recommends remedial diet for back pain.
The yoga therapist said spinal and back disorders were now universal problems. It generally afflicts people who are outgoing by nature and are caught up with external factors.
“Those who are introvert suffer from stiffness of the neck, but they are not struck by spinal illnesses,” he said.
The guru said roughly 80 percent of people suffer from back pains and spinal disorders because they either lead sedentary lifestyles or too hectic ones. Emotional stress also aggravates backaches.
“I have dedicated this book to the young and the old people who are too busy, overworked and suffer from back problems,” he said.
Guru Anoop, who has a masters degree in philosophy from Delhi University, led a live music meditation session after the book release.
