Dubai, April 19 (ANI): Pakistan’s missing Ambassador to Afghanistan, Tariq Azizuddin, appeared on the Al Arabiya Television network on Saturday, and said that he was being held by Taliban militants.
Ambassador Azizuddin, who went missing while driving back to Kabul from Peshawar in February this year, urged his government to meet the Taliban’s demands.
He appeared on video surrounded by armed militants, and confirmed that he was suffering from health problems.
“We were kidnapped by mujahideen from the Taliban. I suffer health problems such as high blood pressure and heart pains,” Azizuddin was quoted by the television network, as saying.
It was not immediately clear what the Taliban demands to the Pakistan government were. (ANI)
