Mentally unstable woman jumps to death from AIIMS building

New Delhi, May 15 (IANS) A mentally unstable woman jumped to her death Thursday from the fifth floor of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), hospital authorities said. According to the AIIMS administration, 32-year-old Babita Goutam, a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad district on the outskirts of Delhi, jumped from the fifth floor of the main hospital building at around 12.30 p.m.
The hospital and police have informed the family.
“The woman was undergoing treatment for the last three years at Safdarjung Hospital and then at a mental hospital in Sahahdra (in east Delhi). She might have come to the institute for treatment,” an AIIMS official said.
