Islamabad , Sept 3 (ANI): The ceasefire presently in place in the tribal areas in Pakistan would be lifted after the Ramzan month, and military operation would resume in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and other restive areas of the NWFP after the holy month ends, said Rehman Malik, the Adviser on Interior Affairs to Pakistan Prime Minister.

Malik said the operation had been suspended during the holy month and would resume after Ramazan and continue until the writ of the government is established in the area.

The Pakistan government would react strongly if anyone tried to disturb peace in the area or attacked the forces during the ceasefire, the Daily Times quoted him as saying while speaking to reporters.

Law and order in Bajaur had improved and the writ of the government had been established there, he said and added that over 150,000 displaced people of Bajaur had returned home while the remaining 120,000 will come back soon. (ANI)
