Malaysian Bhangra KING Manjit SINGH gets law degree
August 25th, 2008 - 4:22 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur , Aug 25 (ANI): Noted Bhangra artist in Malaysia Manjit Singh Gill was reportedly received his law degree (honours) at University Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia ‘’s 24th convocation in Gombak here yesterday.
Manjit, also known as M-Ji, and his brother Sukhjit, also known as Surj, made history when they recorded the first local bhangra album Loaded which was recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records recently, reported nstonline.com.
Manjit’’s elder brother Datuk Amarjit Singh Gill and sister Ranjit Kaur are both in Ipoh , while Sukhjit studies law at University Malaya.
Their father Tan Sri Darshan Singh Gill is a lawyer in Ipoh and is also the Malaysia National Sikhs Movement (Geraksikh) president. (ANI)
