London , May 3 (ANI): Aussie popstar Kylie Minogue will soon be joining the likes of Bob Dylan, Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman in receiving a top French honour.
The 39-year-old star will be made knight in the Order of Arts and Letters for her “contribution to the enrichment of French culture”.
“French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France ,” BBC quoted her, as saying.
While the ceremony will be held in Paris on 5 May, the singer is already preparing to begin her world tour the following night at the Paris Bercy arena
“I am deeply honoured to be recognised in this way,” she said.
Kylie will be receiving the honour from Christine Albanel, the French minister of culture and communications.
The honour is to recognise artists and writers who have contributed significantly to the arts in France and throughout the world.
In fact, it was also announced in January that Minogue will receive Germany ’s top showbiz honour, the Golden Camera. (ANI)
