Kolkatans to walk for AIDS awareness
December 9th, 2010 - 10:34 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Dec 9 (IANS) With the pledge of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and fighting the stigma associated with it, the Kolkata Police and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) along with an NGO are organising a walkathon here Dec 12.
The 10-km “The Great Kolkata Walkathon” will be flagged off at 7.30 a.m. from the main gate of the Victoria Memorial Hall and will end at Park Circus Maidan.
Police Commissioner Gautam Mohan Chakraborty and Mayor Sovon Chattopadhyay, along with a host of celebrities, including film stars and sports personalities, will walk along HIV/AIDS patients as part of the event.
