London, Aug 28 (ANI): Supermodel Kate Moss 1.5 million pounds worth solid gold sculpture is to be unveiled at the Nereid Gallery of the British Museum.

The 50-kg magnificent statue has been created by the famous sculptor Marc Quinn.

Marc has earlier also made a white painted bronze statue of the star.

The artist said that Moss iconic beauty was the inspiration behind the creation.

“I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who’’s the ideal beauty of the moment, but even Kate Moss doesn”t live up to the image,” The Daily Express quoted Quinn, as saying.

The London born artists creation is being counted as the largest gold statue to be made in the world since the time of ancient Egypt.

Quinn’’s latest work, which is thought to also show Moss in a yoga pose, is part of a collection, entitled Statuephilia, by contemporary artists going on display at the British Museum.

The exhibition is the subject of a Channel 4 documentary The Sculpture Diaries to be broadcast in the autumn. (ANI)
