John Lennons biopic will illuminate much about the legendary genius
August 20th, 2008 - 6:00 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, Aug 20 (ANI): The biopic of late John Lennon will provide a deeply personal account of the former Beatle’’s relationship with his mother and with his Aunt Mimi, who brought him up.
The film titled Nowhere Boy is based on the memoirs of Lennons half-sister, Julia Baird.
Matt Greenhalgh of Joy Division biopic Control fame said that the book “illuminated so much about this legendary genius. I could see the drama and film immediately - the women in his life, the men who weren”t, the birth of rock and roll, all imposing on a brilliantly complicated adolescent mind.”
“Without this story, we would never have heard the Beatles - can you imagine that?” Telegraph quoted him, as saying.
The film has landed a lottery-funded development grant by the UK Film Council, where Greenhalgh will get 35,500pounds. (ANI)
