September 29th, 2008 - 10:46 pm ICT by ANI - Send to a friend:Bangalore , Sept 29 (ANI): Indian batting line up got a boost as Sachin Tendulkar joined his team members who are in Bangalore for a six-day fitness camp.
While talking to media, he said that the stint with trainer has enabled him to gain fitness ahead of the important test series against Australia .
Yes I have been working with my trainer and it has been worked out pretty well, so the last two to three weeks have been pretty good and quite useful the way things have progressed, said Tendulkar.
The master blaster dismissed the fact that the Australian team, which has a few rookies in their side will be on the back foot.
I think they (Australians) still have players who played a lot of first class cricket back home and you know, if they have not played international cricket doesn”t mean they cannot deliver, opined Tendulkar.
Answering a question he said the question about the security scenario in the country, the India ‘’s batting legend categorically denied that threats would have an impact on the series.
I don”t think it bothers us. This is our homeland and in our homeland, I don”t think anyone can harm us. We have got full confidence that nothing bad will happen. And you know this is our homeland so we should be free to move wherever and whenever we want. So I think there will be no security concern as such, added the ace batsman.
The first test begins in Bangalore on October 9, followed by matches in Mohali (October 17-21), Delhi (October 29-November 2) and in Nagpur (November 5-9).
Australian team were awaiting a security update from Cricket Australia (CA) after a bomb blast killed two people and wounded 18 in a New Delhi market place on Saturday.
Australia decided to go ahead with the tour after a security review following blasts in the capital on September 13 that killed at least 20 people and injured more than 90.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting said ahead of his arrival on Monday that the safety of the touring party would continue to be monitored throughout the tour.
Australia ‘’s planned tour of Pakistan and this year’’s Champions Trophy in Pakistan were both postponed because of security fears. (ANI)
