India assure Africa for full support for resurgence
April 2nd, 2008 - 8:31 pm ICT by admin - Send to a friend: New Delhi, April 2 (ANI): Nalin Suri Secretary (West) Ministry of External Affairs said in his address to an International Conference on Africa-India partnership here that India desires to be a close partner to Africa to provide support to the African continent to search its due place in the international community.
He said that India shares a common vision with African countries on important issues like fight against terrorism, climate change, multilateral trade negotiations, UN reforms and reforms of the international financial institutions.
Suri hoped the conference would take the cooperation and partnership between India and Africa to greater heights.
He said there are enough opportunities for India and Africa to work together from private public partnership to joint ventures like cooperation in the field of agriculture, health, education to infrastructure, IT, automobile and other transportation systems. He said after the extension in the lines of credit by India new ways for greater opportunities have also come up.
During the two day deliberations, a plan of action would be prepared for discussion in the Summit level meeting between Indian and African leaders next week. (ANI)
