London, Feb 10 (ANI): A new study has found that impatient people are awful procrastinators, delaying important jobs that they would never let others to postpone.

A team of international researchers at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Illinois has found that procrastinators are impatient people.

Although impatience and procrastination seem like opposite traits, but the researchers said that they have found a clear link between the two.

They said that impatience and procrastination are different aspects of the same condition.

Psychologists hope the new study would help them to develop therapies to help people who procrastinate.

“Procrastination seriously affects our productivity at work and can cost people considerable amounts of money as they postpone paperwork indefinitely, the Telegraph quoted Ernesto Reuben, lead author, as saying.

“People do not want to procrastinate - it is just that their impatience gets in the way. A procrastinator might work better with weekly deadlines which force him to keep up to speed, as opposed to a big deadline far in the future,” Reuben added.

In the study, 550 volunteers completed tasks and surveys to test their procrastination for the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London. (ANI)
