Heres how hard you can punch without breaking your fistFebruary 20th, 2008 - 4:56 pm ICT by admin
London, Feb 20 (ANI): Ever wondered how hard you can punch without breaking the fist or how much electricity can pass through the human body without proving lethal? Well, all these questions have been answered in a new fascinating study which reveals the absolute limits of human physical endurance.
The study has been conducted by BBC Focus magazine.
When it comes to the question that how hard can a human punch before the arm bones would shatter, the research answered - 50 kilonewtons of force - equivalent to 5,000 kilos or 2,000 five-pound bags of potatoes dropping to the ground, reports the Mirror.
The arm muscles contribute half of the force of the punch so you would need a tricep of around 22ins circumference to do it.
And the amount of electricity, which humans cannot survive, would be an electric shock of 20,000 volts on dry skin. On wet skin, a tenth of this would kill a man. (ANI)
