Golfer Greg Normans ex-wife wants money earned from his wedding to EvertAugust 7th, 2008 - 3:35 pm ICT by ANI
Melbourne, Aug.7 (ANI): Golfer Greg Norman and his ex-wife Laura Andrassy are now fighting over millions that he and his new wife Chris Evert pocketed for photos of their lavish wedding.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Andrassy has asked a Florida judge to force Norman to hand over secret details about the money he and Evert earned for coverage of their nuptials in June.
It maybe recalled that Norman a.k.a. the The Great White Shark, waged a two-year battle with Andrassy over their 600 million dollar business empire before it was agreed that Andrassy would get 107 million dollar settlement.
Andrassy’’s lawyer Jack Scarola has filed a motion in Martin County Circuit Court requesting Judge Elizabeth Metzger to order Norman to “produce and permit Andrassy to inspect and copy” all documents - including e-mails and phone records - relating to the sale of the copyrighted photos.
The petition demanded Norman produce all evidence relating to “any efforts by you or on your behalf to obtain any form of compensation in exchange for access to or photos of any marriage ceremony or celebration of your marriage to Chris Evert”.
The request also demanded that Andrassy be provided with “all communications concerning access by any public media entities or representatives to information about, attendance at, or photographs or other images of your marriage to Chris Evert or any celebration associated with that marriage”.
Andrassy is expected to request a portion of the picture sales, but it is unclear whether she would have a legal claim to the proceeds as she and Norman were officially divorced when the wedding took place.
Norman and Evert are believed to have earned seven-figures for the exclusive rights to publish the photos of their wedding at luxury resort The One and Only Beach Club on Paradise Island.
Representatives for Norman and Evert have refused to confirm whether the jet-setting couple received payment for photo rights to their wedding, which featured a large security presence to prevent other media covering the ceremony.
Norman’’s lawyer said Andrassy was harassing her ex-husband by trying to invade his privacy.
The couple are due to face off in the Florida court next month over the final issue remaining in their divorce - the taxation depreciation on Norman’’s private jet. (ANI)
