eBay charity auction lets you buy celeb Twitter pals
September 23rd, 2010 - 6:02 pm ICT by ANINew York, Sep 23 (ANI): Want to have celebs as your friends on Twitter? Well, here’s your chance.
EBay Inc. is hosting a charity auction called TwitChange, through which people will be allowed to bid to have celebrities follow them, retweet their posts or tweet their username on Twitter for three months.
Proceeds from the auction, will go to aHomeInHaiti.org and its efforts to rebuild the Miriam Center, which is based in Haiti and houses and serves special-needs children, reports the New York Daily News.
The idea is the brainchild of Atlanta-based pastor Shaun King, who founded aHomeInHaiti after the massive earthquake in Haiti in January.
More than 180 celebrities are involved in the auction, ranging from Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine to actor Zachary Levi, to rapper Snoop Dog and many more.
King said the auction had collected $200,000 in bids so far, and he’s cautiously optimistic that his group will raise even more. (ANI)
