London, March 12 (IANS) Prince Philip, known for his gaffe-prone remarks, asked a sea cadet whether she works at a strip club, a media report said Friday.
The Duke of Edinburgh was inspecting cadets in Exeter and asked 24-year-old barmaid Elizabeth Rendle what she did for a living, Daily Express reported.

“I told him I worked in a club.

“He then asked if it was a strip club. Then he said it’s a bit too cold today anyway,” Rendle was quoted as saying.

She, however, added: “He was just putting people at ease.”

The Sun reported that in 1986 he told a group of British students in China: “If you stay here much longer, you’ll all be slitty-eyed”.

Prince Philip asked a driving instructor in Scotland in 1995: “How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to get them through the test?”

During a tour of Australia in 2002 he asked an Aborigine if they still threw spears at each other.
