New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) Over half of divorced Indian men prefer single women when it comes to marriage again, while divorcee women are open to considering both single as well divorced men.According to a study conducted by matrimonial website Jeevansathi.com and released Tuesday, a total of 53 percent divorced men surveyed said they preferred single women when it came to marrying again. Divorced women were, however, open to marriage proposals from both single and divorced men.

“This trend is not only significant among self posted profiles of divorced men but also among profiles posted by parents of such men, where 62 percent of them prefer their son to re-marry single women,” the study said.

Breaking the population community-wise, the study found that it is mostly men from Haryana (76 percent), Sikkim (63.83 percent) and Orissa (63.74 percent) who prefer single women for matrimony.

Rohit Manghnani, business head of Jeevansathi.com, said: “These days, we have witnessed that single women are open to proposals from both single and divorced men. That is reflected in the proposals from divorced men.”
