Delhi ready with 15,000 flats for poor
September 6th, 2011 - 12:35 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 5 (IANS) The Delhi government has completed the construction of 15,000 flats for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers. The allotment of 7,000 flats will start in October, it was announced Monday.
Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan said Monday in the legislative assembly: “Apart from that, government is also mulling to pay the share of Rs.60,000 for the eligible SC/ST slum dwellers for flats and a proposal regarding this is under consideration.”
He said that the urban development department organised a special camp from April to check the documents needed for owning a flat of the residents of 33 slum clusters.
