Dalai Lama to return to Delhi Saturday
November 16th, 2009 - 10:10 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 7 (IANS) Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, who left Monday for Italy, will return to Delhi Nov 20 and take part in a series of programmes.
Tempa Tsering, an official in the Dalai Lama’s office, told IANS: “On Nov 20 evening, the Dalai Lama will take part in a talk ‘Women and Peace’ organised at Siri Fort auditorium. On Saturday (Nov 21) afternoon, he will take part in a conference on ‘History and Culture’ at Delhi University, where he will give a valedictory address.”
“On Sunday, Nov 22, his holiness will take part in the International Hind Swaraj conference at Surajkund. On Nov 23, he will inaugurate a conference on environment at Gurgaon,” he said.
The spiritual leader will return to Dharamshala after the Nov 23 programme for a teaching discourse.
His government-in-exile in the hill town of Dharamshala is not recognised by any country. India is also home to some 100,000 Tibetan exiles.
