Mumbai April 9 (IANS) Pharmaceutical major Dabur Pharma Ltd Wednesday announced that it has inked a deal with the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) of Thailand to supply its key anti-cancer drug to the Southeast Asian nation. The Delhi-based firm said it would supply Thailand its generic version of Docetaxel injection.
The drug, considered to be a high-quality cancer fighting prescription in the cost effective range, would be supplied straight to GPO at a special price, the company said in a statement.
The firm said the GPO, after importing the drug, would make it available amongst the poor who cannot afford high-cost anti-cancer drugs.
The agreement, according to Dabur, is a part of a campaign being carried out by Royal Thai Government and the health ministry to provide universal access to essential medicines amongst the poor.
