Cup of aloe juice, nutritious milk shake and herbal tea make for a healthy breakfast
September 22nd, 2009 - 6:11 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, September 22 (ANI): A cup of aloe juice, nutritious milk shake and herbal tea may be a good replacement for a heavy breakfast, the study claims.
These three drinks apparently provide everything needed in the morning for energy, nutrition and hydration.
Gu Linong, director of the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University People’s Hospital and a member of Herbalife Nutrition Committee, said: “This combination has a scientific foundation, though it runs counter to traditional ideas of a healthy breakfast.”
The essential components of healthy breakfast are carbohydrates, fat, protein, vitamins and minerals, water and fiber.
Gu insists that the three drinks provide it all, reports Chinaview.cn.
He said: “The three cups provide enough nutrition and energy and it’s low-fat, low-calorie and low-cholesterol”.
Aloe juice is a well-known laxative, which helps eliminate toxins accumulated overnight, while the special milk shake has protein powder and milk or soybean milk, with fruit or nuts.
The shake provides energy and nutrition and the third cup is green tea or black tea to stimulate metabolism.
Nutritionist Du Xin, who has been drinking breakfast for over two months, insists that it does not leave a person hungry.
He said: “No, you won’t be hungry. It provides enough nutrition, can effectively control weight, keep the body in shape and solve constipation problems.” (ANI)
