Washington DC, May 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new condom which has the potential to maintain erection in men have been developed by Futura Medical. The condoms called CSD500 helps keep erection using vasodilating gel.

The gel improves the flow of blood in the penis which helps keep erection. There has been a sharp comparison between the condom and Viagra pills with some people going ahead to call the condom “Viagra condom.”

Some analysts however do not hold the view that the condom works like Viagra. Unlike Viagra, the CSD500 cannot help correct erectile dysfunction. It is meant to address problems that some men have regarding the use of condoms. Some people have reported losing erection after wearing the condoms.

The new product is licensed to the pharmaceutical giant Durex. Drug regulators in the United Kingdom are studying the condoms. The condom is expected to be available on the market in less than a year.

HIV/AIDS campaigners recommend the use of condoms to prevent the spread of the disease. The disease does not have any known cure currently so scientists are concentrating on abstinence and the use of condoms to help check its spread. 80 percent of HIV transmission is through unprotected sex.
