Cops want Peaches Geldof to turn witness in drug caseMay 10th, 2008 - 4:24 pm ICT by admin
London, May 10 (ANI): After questioning British socialite Peaches Geldof over a drug deal, cops now want her to help them nab a drug dealer selling cocaine to celebs.
The 19-year-old, who was filmed purchasing drugs recently, has been quizzed under caution over an allegation of possessing the drug.
The questioning took place after a video of her allegedly buying cocaine was obtained by The Sun, the same video which featured singer Amy Winehouse.
Peaches, who is the daughter of Live Aid hero Sir Bob Geldof, was spared getting arrested even though she was caught on the tape handing over 190 pounds for cocaine to a dealer.
Peaches was interviewed at a central London solicitors office on Thursday May 08, and a report will now go to the CPS for consideration on charges, and cops are hopeful she will turn witness.
It is hoped that Peaches, in particular, will appear as a witness in the case, the Sun quoted one police source as saying.
We believe she was deliberately targeted by a drug supplier, the source added.
In the clip, Peaches was seen as clutching a wad of cash and a credit card going to meet a drug dealer in London, and was heard fixing the deal.
Ive got 140 pounds but I need all that stuff off you tonight. Remember what I owe you. Tomorrow I need Valium, she was heard as saying.
Peaches, whose mum Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose in 2000, had previously denied using cocaine, and her father 55-year-old Sir Bob had said in the past he would go f****** ballistic if she took drugs. (ANI)
