Chinese student runs 30 km daily to save bus fare
September 26th, 2011 - 10:22 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Sep 26 (IANS) A school student in China runs 30 km everyday from home to school and back to save $1.4 in bus fare, a media report said.
The 19-year-old high school student, Yan Mingqiang, in Yuzhou in Henan province has been covering the 30 km distance for the past two years, reported China Daily citing chinanews.com.
Yan is from a poor family and both his parents are sick.
He works during vacation to reduce financial pressure on his family.
The media report said that his teachers feel Yan has become a promising long-distance runner.
