Children’s fest carries message of peace
December 19th, 2009 - 9:48 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS) Over 5,000 school children from over 30 countries came together to spread the message of peace at a children’s festival which ended in the capital Saturday.
The 10th International Children’s Festival of Performing Arts organised by the Ryan Foundation began at the Bal Bhavan here Wednesday.
The four-day festival witnessed children staging performances on issues ranging from pollution, water conservation and social evils, the organisers said in a release.
The school children also painted peace messages on each others’ white t-shirts.
“There’s no way to peace. Peace is the only way,” said a message written on the t-shirt of one of young participants.
Shany, a participant from Israel said: “Nobody likes terror, and we as Israelis know how bad it is.”
Ryan Foundation managing director Grace Pinto described the event as “just the beginning of a unique journey”.
