April 27th, 2010 - 2:49 am ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt ( Leave a comment )New York, Apr 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) These days a record number of people want to have an edge over the others, and they have no qualms about using any resource available to do so. And one of the most common ways these days, is to pop a pill to boost the brainpower. People want to go beyond the ordinary and they have no hiccups in embracing medicine and pills in order to boost their cerebral material. This process is called ‘neuroenhancement’.
Neuroenhancement is especially common on the American college campuses. The most common drugs that are used are Adderall and Ritalin. Even though both of these drugs used to be prescribed for people who have the attention deficiency syndrome. But now the common and normal people are abusing them in order to boost their brainpower.
A recent CBS Report revealed all these astonishing details. The report asked the students of the University of Kentucky (UOK) in Lexington, about the drug usage problem and most of the students candidly confessed that they resorted to taking drugs, in order to pump up their brainpower.
Katie Couric said that, “It’s called neuroenhancement and if you want to find someone who’s trying it out, just visit a college campus. That’s where a surprising number of students are turning to drugs like Adderall and Ritalin, originally developed to treat attention disorders, to boost their brain power and help them make the grade.”
