Britons too bugged by parking woes
August 23rd, 2011 - 12:07 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 23 (IANS) While many of us at times claim to have the first right at the open space outside our property, especially while parking vehicles, a lot of Britons feel no different.
Never mind their home being their castle, Britons are also very territorial about parking spaces, a poll has found.
According to the survey of over 20,000 adults by insurance company Churchill, nearly half - 44 percent - think they “own” the nearest spot to their home, Daily Express reported.
It was found five percent put out traffic cones in front of their house and two percent even wrote “no parking” notices. Four percent had rowed with a neighbour over parking.
Almost one in five - 18 percent - had arrived home to find someone parked across their driveway in the last year, with three percent discovering a stranger’s car in their garden or on their drive.
