Biotech Park to develop vaccines against brain cancer

Lucknow, July 9 (IANS) Production of vaccines to fight brain cancer will soon start at the Biotech Park in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow district, an official said Wednesday. “A firm from United States will be implementing the vaccine production project on our campus,” Biotech Park’s CEO P.K. Seth told IANS.
The firm, US-based Cognate Bioservices, is expected to start the production unit by the end of this year. “The company has already entered into an agreement with us in this regard”, he added.
Initially, Cognate Bioservices will start vaccine production on a small scale basis to meet the research and development requirements. Later, the firm will undertake the manufacturing of the vaccines on a large scale, officials said.
