Beijing, April 17 (Xinhua) A new contender for world’s tallest man title has been found in China after he attended a hospital for a foot surgery in northeast China.
The 27-year-old Zhao Liang was measured 2.46 metres (over eight feet) tall by the doctors at Tianjin Anjie Hospital.

Zhao is 10 cm taller than Bao Xishun, also a Chinese citizen and current Guinness World Record holder for the tallest man. Zhao has not been independently measured by the Guinness judges.

His mother said Zhao has a big appetite and can eat eight hamburger-sized steamed buns and three dishes at dinner.

Zhao’s parents are of normal height. His father is 1.8 metres tall and his mother 1.68 metres. They don’t know why their son has grown to such an abnormal height.

“I am so worried about his marriage, job and health,” said his mother Wang Keyun.
