London, Dec 3 (IANS) Scientists have had to cancel a research project after being unable to find a single young man who had never looked at pornography.
Researchers at the University of Montreal wanted to compare men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography, with those who were regular users.

But the project had to be abandoned when they failed to find a single man who had not seen it.

“We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Simon Louis Lajeunesse, a professor. “We couldn’t find any.”

The study ended up examining the habits of those young men who did use pornography, the Daily Telegraph reported.

It found that single men watched pornography three times a week for an average of 40 minutes, while those in relationships watched it 1.7 times a week for around 20 minutes.

Around 90 percent watch it on the internet, while 10 percent of material comes from video stores.

On average, male heterosexual students first watched pornography when they were 10 years old.

Lajeunesse said pornography did not have a negative effect on men’s sexuality: “Not one subject had a pathological sexuality. In fact, all of their sexual practices were quite conventional.”
