A 42-year-old colour TV that still works
November 12th, 2010 - 7:03 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Nov 12 (IANS) A colour television set that was bought 42-years back is still running fine in Britain.
Derek Wills purchased the colour TV, Mitsubishi CT2217BM, way back in 1968 - and it has never required attention, the Daily Express said Friday.
“The back’s never been off it.”
“We contacted Mitsubishi because we thought it would be a great advert for them. They were impressed that there had never been anything wrong with it,” Wills was quoted as saying.
He had bought the set for around 300 pounds when BBC had just begun colour broadcasts.
In those days, there were only three channels - BBC1, BBC2 and ITV.
