83 children fall ill after eating mid-day meals
February 14th, 2010 - 7:19 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Feb 14 (IANS) As many as 83 children fell ill after eating mid-day meals at a school in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, a district official said Sunday.
“As many as 83 children who had taken mid-day meals at Kaneragaon Primary and Middle School Saturday started vomiting in the evening and were rushed to district hospital for treatment,” Sagar Collector Manish Shrivastava told IANS.
He said that some of them were discharged within an hour or so while some others, barring 10, were released in the morning.
“Ten children are still undergoing treatment but are out of danger,” he said.
Shrivastava said that a committee has been constituted to probe the incident.
