Dharamsala, Aug 30 (ANI): The Department of Information and International Relations of the Tibetan government-in-exile has organized a travelling photo exhibition here, narrating the Tibetans’ journey into exile.
Photographic narrative of the Tibetan people’s journey into exile and their long look towards their homeland has been put on display as a travelling exhibition that would be taken to different parts of India.
The event is a part of the 50 years of Tibetans in exile programme.
“The purpose of the exhibition is to commemorate the fifty years in India as a thank you gesture to the Indian people and to the Indian government from the Department of Information under the CTA,” Tenzin Cheodon, Secretary of Tibet Museum said on Sunday.
“We need to impart education to the Indian masses as well as to the Tibetan people about the Tibet issue, about the exile government and about the gradual process of fifty years in exile,” he added.
The exhibition began in Bangalore on Wednesday and will travel to several other parts of the country.
A total of 60 panels will be exhibited, of which 35 panels portray Tibetan life in exile for the last 50 years, and 25 panels depict the past and present situation inside Tibet. In the evenings, Tibet related documentary films are being screened at the respective venues.
“I think it is a good idea to have a moving exhibition especially for travellers like me. You can visit all different places in India but you don’t get the opportunity to come around to the mountains so it’s a good idea to spread the knowledge,” said Andra, a tourist from the UK. (ANI)
