Chennai, June 9 (ANI: Tamil Nadu, famed for its ancient and intricately designed temples, is seeking an image makeover to fascinate leisure and adventure tourists looking for exotic beaches and tranquil hill stations.

Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), the State tourism body, released a short film on Tuesday here to highlight the State’s tourist hotspots.

The film, ‘Songs Sequences’, seeks to popularise other aspects of Tamil Nadu that has been known usually for its ancient temples. The film aims to highlight wildlife sanctuaries and forests, art forms, beaches, mountains and hill stations in the state to make it more popular among domestic and international tourists.

“It will have a subtle effect in impressing the minds of the viewers and they will be tempted to come and see the greener aspects of Tamil Nadu because so far Tamil Nadu is known more as a place of monuments and temples. In this movie, we have showcased greener aspects of Tamil Nadu, waterfalls, the beaches, mountains, hill stations. So the pleasant splendours will impress the people and the youth will be attracted for this kind of tourism,” said Irai Anbu, Secretary of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation

The film is being translated into multiple languages to widen its reach.

“The five songs which have been released today are also being converted to other languages which will attract more tourists from other states to Tamil Nadu. In comparison to the other states, Tamil Nadu provides the best tourist destination for both nation and international tourists as it is the most peaceful state in the entire country, and that is the reason the tourists’ arrival graph has witnessed a steady upward trend in the state, and further, this new initiative will benefit us more,” said Suresh Rajan, State Tourism Minister.

Five versions of the songs have already been produced and will be telecast on different channels. (ANI)
