Pune hosts auto rickshaw accessories show

Pune, Aug 8 (ANI): A unique auto rickshaw show was organized here this past week to highlight the value added accessories in a vehicle, as well as lend a boost to the status of auto rickshaw.
The specially decked up auto rickshaws drew everyone’s attention due to their colorful roofs, cushy seats, music systems, latest shiny fittings, a pay phone and a small fire extinguisher.
The idea was to draw attention of the auto rickshaw manufacturers and fabricators to special features of auto rickshaws.
“A new trend of auto rickshaw is starting, so that the manufactures understand that what all facilities should they provide in an auto rickshaw. If the displayed facilities will be provided then many problems of the auto rickshaw drivers will be solved and the demand for auto rickshaws will increase,” said Lukmat Khan, one of the organizers.
“The auto rickshaws here in the show have the facilities of phone, first aid and many more gadgets, which are very beneficial for the public. If such facilities are provided, people will fell safe while traveling in an auto rickshaw and its demand will increase,” he added.
Auto rickshaw drivers said they spent thousands of rupees to modify their auto rickshaws, making them people friendly, and thus, decided to display them at the show.
“I earn my living from this auto rickshaw. We care for the vehicle in the same way we treat our child. It is like my own child. So, I have decorated it in this manner,” said Manoj Patil, an auto rickshaw driver. (ANI)
